Are you a sleeping Christian?jesuschalkdrawing
Can you not discern the times?
If you were watching for Him,
you’d surely see the signs!

They mock our Christian morals,
and hate our friends, the Jews;
to see how values have collapsed,
you’ve but to watch the news!

The “alternate” lifestyle is the norm,
true marriage has no worth.
When the Bridegroom comes for us,
will He find faith on earth?

Earthquakes and storms abound,
and famine’s on the rise.
If our precious Savior came today,
would you meet Him in the sky?

Time is shorter than you think,
put eternity on your mind.
If you’re not ready when He comes,
you may well be left behind!

Have you lost your love for Him?
Do you not serve Him any more?
You’d best wake up, for when He calls,
if you’re asleep, He’ll shut the door!

Peggy McIlveene – January 16, 2004

Thank you Peggy for this great poem… time is sooo short; Examine yourself and ensure that you are obeying His commands as you first did when you met Him!

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NKJV)

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

Great poem and so in time

    FOR PRETRIB RAPTURE REPEATERS

Congratulations! You are now fulfilling the Bible which says “Come now, and let us repeat together.”

Be sure to repeat what Walvoord, Lindsey, LaHaye, Ice etc. repeat what their own teachers repeat what their own teachers repeat etc. etc. etc.!

Repeat that Christ’s return is imminent because we’re told to “watch” (Matt. 24, 25) for it. So is the “day of God” (II Pet. 3:12) – which you admit is at least 1000 years ahead – also imminent because we’re told to be “looking for” it?

Also repeat the pretrib myths about the “Jewish wedding stages” and “Jewish feasts” (where’s your “church/Israel dichotomy” now?) even though Christ and Paul knew nothing about a “pretrib stage” and neither did any official theological creed or organized church before 1830!

You should read “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty” on the “Powered by Christ Ministries” site to find out why you shouldn’t repeat everything your pretrib teachers repeat.

Do I have to repeat this?

  3. I certainly appreciate your comments don’t discourage anyone from voicing their opinion. Jesus tell us in Matt 24:4:

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

You’re very words Dana (or Cheryl, whatever you calling yourself today) are contradictory to what scripture says. The 1830 “rapture revelation” is a joke… and all who believe that is when it started clearly isn’t studying scripture, but instead are listening to man. I think that we can agree that Jesus Himself mentions an escape of any kind in regards to faithful, obedient believers in the last days. Unless you have a different interpretation of this verse in Luke 21:34-36?

    The Importance of Watching

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Also, when you dig deeper into the Word of God, you’ll notice that the escape is sprinkled in the old testament as well. For example, when you read, in context, the Song of Solomon in Chapter 2… you’ll find the dead in Christ “arise” first, then they/we who are are alive and remain “arise” also to meet them in the air as indicated in 1 Thes 4:16-17.

Instead of rewriting it in this reply, simply go back and read your bible and my above post.

I’ll also remind everyone that Paul indicates that the escape or “Rapture” is a mystery in 1 Cor 15:51-52…

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

…and mysteries have clues that need to be sought after, dug up like nuggets of valuable treasure, and then pieced together to provide greater knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to see things from God’s perspective.

    Proverbs 25:2…

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

The one piece of advice that I can say to you Dana (or Cheryl, whatever you calling yourself today), and all who think like you is to simply follow what the Holy Spirit reveals to you through the word of God. Scripture will always interpret scripture. And one thing I believe is certain… If you’re not looking for Him then you certainly aren’t going! Jesus cannot work where there is unbelief.

    Matthew 13:57-58 reads…

So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.” Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

The Watchman

Ezekiel 33:6...
"But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
