Introduction to the “Rapture” a.k.a. “Great Assembly” in our opinion…

The rapture (Latin for “caught up”) is an event that that is believed that will take place sometime in the near future around any “Pentecost” or “Rosh Hashanah” time frame; when Jesus returns in the air and calls all true believers (obedient followers) past and present from the earth to meet Him.

Mystery of the Rapture“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thes 4:16-18)

The purpose of this web page is to provide education and a warning to born-again Christians and non-believers; and to prove that not only will the rapture occur prior to the beginning of the tribulation period, but also that some born-again believers will find themselves “Left Behind” if they are not “counted worthy to escape the things to come”.  (See Luke 21:34-36)

34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.  35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.  36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

In our opinion, this is the one key verse (36) that eludes to a pre-tribulation (wrath) event/escape; yet there are several others that would indicate the bride doesn’t step into the tribulation in fear.  We are to be “comforted” with the words of His appearing at the “Great Assembly”!  The “mystery,” timing of the rapture and who will be participating can be reasonably discovered based on a careful study of traditional Jewish Agriculture/Harvesting of the Fields and Jewish Wedding Ceremonies and Customs.

To begin… Keep in mind that Jesus is Jewish; therefore, there is no reason to believe that He would deviate from Jewish tradition. With that said, let me remind you of what the Apostle Paul told us regarding the Rapture in 1 Cor 15:51-52:

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

He clearly stated that the Rapture is a mystery; therefore, mysteries have clues that need to be discovered, and only then can the mystery be understood and solved. Also, God loves to conceal things!

Check out Proverbs 25:2:

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

We are shown in the 12th chapter of the book of Daniel that God revealed information concerning the Tribulation period (Daniel’s 70th Week); however, Daniel was told on two occasions not to disclose all of what he heard and to seal up this knowledge until the Time of the End.

Look at Daniel 12:4.

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Only at “the time of the end” will knowledge or understanding increase.  And it appears that is where we are now.

And again at Daniel 12:8-10.

“Although I heard, I did not understand”. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?” And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

Therefore; only then will clues of this mystery be understood by those who are wise.

Four Opposing Views of the Timing of the Rapture

Now in my opinion most people who read the bible literally believe in the physical second coming of Jesus, and that the Rapture, or catching away of believers (Bride), is clearly observed and taught so that no-one can deny such an event. The Four views are:

The Pre-Tribulation (Partial) View – Only the faithful, devoted (bride) will be Raptured BEFORE the Tribulation; those who are not counted worthy (only God knows) will be left behind to make a commitment to the faith. (This is the position that I hold)

The Pre-Tribulation (Full) View – All who claim to be “Christians” will be Raptured BEFORE the Tribulation.

The Mid-Tribulational (Full) View – All who claim to be “Christians” will be Raptured in the MIDDLE of the Tribulation.

The Post Tribulational (Full) View – All who claim to be “Christians” will be Raptured at the END of the Tribulation, just before Christ’s second coming.

Although, the “Pre-Tribulation (Full)” and Post-Tribulation (Full) views have been well researched and documented among many scholars; there are still opposing views involving the timing of the rapture.

My opinion is mainly based upon a deep study of Jewish culture; therefore, I will be focusing primarily on the “Pre-Tribulation (Partial)” view. Although this view is contrary to the traditional, main-stream teaching of this event, I believe that once you understand Jewish customs and culture, the timing and participants of this event will be made known more clearly and you will see that there is more than one rapture.

First I want to take a deeper look at the timing of the Rapture events; then we will take a look at who will be participating in vivid detail.

I want to start with the proper context of the big picture in Luke 21 where Jesus describes not only the “signs of the times” at the beginning of the Tribulation period, but also an opportunity to “escape” the Tribulation that is presented at the end of the chapter.

Let’s start in v.34-36.

Counted Worthy To Escape These Things…

The Importance of Watching

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (NKJV)

“Come to Pass” = Future Tense

How can the Coming of the Lord be a snare?

Think about this: It’s not a snare for those who are counted worthy to escape, but it’s a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth, or for those who are “left behind” because they are caught in the “Tribulation” trap. Being in a snare means that something is trapped in a situation that it cannot get out of. (Anything serving to entrap or entangle unawares; trap.)

“Counted worthy to escape these things” Worthy = Being a prevailer or overcomer… Fit for Honor… Did a great job.

Standing before the Son of Man is talking about those who are worshiping Him and are standing before the Judgment seat of Christ as in 2 Cor 5:9-10.
The Judgment Seat of Christ

Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Doesn’t that sound like there is a certain level of works involved in order to “escape the things that will come to pass”? Of course it does. He is not talking about salvation itself, but of blessings and rewards. The Rapture is NOT a guarantee to those who claim to be saved, yet who walk with satan, but it IS a blessing to those who are faithful and obedient to Jesus Christ and His commands.

What is Jesus talking about here when He talks about escaping? Escaping what?

When you go back and read what He is talking about in Luke 21:7-19 you will read about Famines, Pestilence’s, Earthquakes, Wars, Great and Fearful Signs In Heaven, Persecution and being betrayed by loved ones, being hated by ALL for His name sake.

Here, I’ll show you – Luke 21:7-19.
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?” And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.”

Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.

Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.

In the above verses we can discern that Jesus is most likely describing the first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation.

Then when you continue in Luke 21:20-24 Jerusalem is being occupied by armies, that people (Jews) will flee to the mountains and that these are Days Of Vengeance, great distress in the land and wrath upon this people, falling by the edge of the sword, and being led away captive into all nations.

The Destruction of Jerusalem

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

When you read in the Old Testament, the Day of Vengeance of our God always reflects upon a time when God’s wrath is poured out on the earth. It is the identified time after the Church Age and the dispensation of God concludes; otherwise known as The Time of Jacob’s Trouble, Daniel’s Seventh Week, or the Tribulation Period. This time frame is leading up to Mid-Trib then entering into what’s known as the “Great Tribulation”.

Please also notice in v.24 where “they will fall by the edge of the sword”. A practice of execution that Islam uses today. With the rise of Radical Islam and their intent to take over the world, we can already see where this practice will be widely used, especially after the Rapture and during the Tribulation period.

The Destruction of Jerusalem will be exactly “Mid-Tribulation” which is validated in Matt 24:15-18.
The Great Tribulation

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

And in Daniel 12:11.

“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Then He talks about Signs in the Sun, Moon, and Stars in Luke 21:25-28.

The Coming of the Son of Man

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

What He is saying here is that these things are all happening over a period of time, that these are all of the signs that occur before the Day called His Return…(The Day of The Lord). That that Day doesn’t cease you unaware. What day? The day that is set aside that “no man knows the Day (singular) or the hour of His return. A major day in that He comes.

Those who are worthy to escape those days of vengeance to come and stand before the Son of Man. But when that day comes it will be a snare to those who remain on the earth.

It’s going to be a trap!!!

Imagine that in all of the preaching and teaching you’ve heard during your life that one day the Lord is coming, and all of the sudden you wake up one day and there is mass confusion across the earth, people seemed to have disappeared, probably amongst some sort of major global catastrophe (ie, Comet ELEnin, Planet-X, or a passing Brown Dwarf Star, etc). And at that time, imagine such a force of energy due to the molecular structure of humans being changed from mortality to immortality that starts a brief chain reaction of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions across the globe and no-one knows what’s truly happening. Satellite communications are disrupted and it takes days, weeks, or even months to find out what’s going on.

  • The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is a wedding feast by invitation only… Many are invited; but we can be in danger of turning down the invitation.
  • He who has hope purifies himself… those who believe the Lord isn’t delaying in his coming.
  • Rapture fighters who have fallen into immorality, who blast rapture teaching, and those who are getting drunk and still calling themselves Christians who aren’t looking for him are in danger of missing His coming.
  • The New Age movement is spreading throughout the earth. For example: Hinduism says that “‘bad” people have negative ora and will disappear.
  • Others believe that UFO’s will take millions of people off of the face of the earth.
  • Earthquakes are happing all over the globe during these days. Watch for LA to be shaken not by the famous San Andreas fault, but the more recently discovered Puentes Fault. The History Channel has recently aired an interesting documentary about it.

Pray: Lord, make me someone who is an overcomer… help me to live different… help me to be counted “worthy” and a prevailer in order that I may escape (flee out of) trouble.

The root word of escape means (flee or vanish) i.e., the rapture. When the “day” comes.

Kingdom Now teaching… No rapture, politics, utopia, perfection, Christians become stronger, church is mature, denominations are working together. That we’re currently in the millennium reign and that Satan is currently bound. People who just sit around waiting for the Lord to come.

Rapture teaching is heresy… The Rapture is “escapism”. Noah escaped the flood, Lot fiery judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah, Israel escaped 10 plagues in Egypt, Ezk: God marked righteous to escape Jerusalem, Rev: 144,000 are sealed to escape.

Everyone who I know who thinks He’s coming soon is busy working for the Lord. We don’t have a lot of time left based on the signs.

Don’t be found with God asking you, “why were you filled with such unbelief?” Why were you living like a hypocrite…

He’ll never rebuke me for my faith, but he’ll never rebuke me for my unbelief. Heb 2:1-4

Do Not Neglect Salvation

1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

God does not judge the righteous and unrighteous on the same level. Righteous are judged by: actions, works, deeds as we are free from sin. “what did you do for me on earth, how did you treat people”. Unrighteous are judged by their sins.

God has not appointed us to wrath…
  • Escape = to get out of, to escape from (alluding to the Rapture)
  • It will be as a snare at the time of the Rapture; It will be a relief, or blessing at His second coming.
  • Neglect: To be careless of, to make fun of, if we mock,
  • Peter… “in the last days there will be scoffers walking after their own lust…. Where’s the promise of His coming…” People have always said that!

Praise the Lord for His Word:

There are people who escape and people who do not.  1 Thes 4:16-18

This is said in the setting of the Rapture…

Get this txt in a different version.  1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

The Day of the Lord

1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

How do we escape these things:

Noah escaped the flood, Lot fiery judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah, Israel escaped 10 plagues in Egypt, Ezk 9?: God marked righteous to escape Jerusalem, Rev: 144,000 are sealed to escape.

Keys to what got them out of trouble… to have the ability to escape. Who else escaped trouble???

  1. Noah: Key? In Heb… being moved by fear of God and walked in faith to prepare the ark. Prov: fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom. The fear of the Lord reframe us from sinning.
  2. Lot: 2 Peter – The righteousness of God helped deliver him from the day of wrath. By their rightness (right standing with God – Obedience) they would be delivered
  3. Israel escaped Death angel: Key – Blood of the Lamb Rev: they overcame Satan by the blood of the lamb. What Jesus did on the cross. Justified by His Blood, Washed by His blood.
  4. 144k Jews Sealed: The Antichrist cannot touch them… but for the Church Eph “you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise” Proof of our inheritance”

The Cross is the center of all protection and victory.

Keys to be ready for the Rapture:

  1. Faith in the Blood of Jesus
  2. Faith in God’s Word
  3. Fear of God
  4. Be in right standing with God
  5. Sealed with the Spirit of Promise
  6. Relying on the Cross of Jesus

These 6 keys are what makes a person an overcomer; giving you the ability to escape the things to come.  Be mindful to continuously walk with a repentant heart daily!

    Left behind is a joke

Pre-trib is horrible scholarship that almost no one in Christianity believes. So what do the pre-tribs do so they dont feel so alone—they try and scare other christians that if they dont conform they will be left behind.

No respected scholar sees it–only these untrained endtime fanatics–its their life. Prediction after prediction and non stop rapture talk. Yeah..like thats what Paul wanted us to preach till we’re blue in the face–one sentence of scripture.

It takes a certain personality to lust for this endtime stuff..I know..I have some of it. But you need a bit of wisdom to see when it dominates your thinking. The pretrib crowd has almost reduced themselves to a cult..they preach your not ready…but is it not *them that are not ready?

John… You couldn’t be further from the truth… How do you explain Luke 21:34-36? There is a “Pre” escape coming… I pray that you will “be accounted worthy” for it, as I pray for myself and family daily!

    just a thought…………
    1948 israel became a nation + 70 years (normal lifespan of humanbeing acc.to ps 90v10)=the year 2018 – 7 years of tribulation = 2011.

    additional 10 years acc.to ps.90v10=2021….but i doubt….can be wrong.

    more likely 2011.

How about the PAST-Tribulational view? Instead of speculating, why don’t we let Scripture and History tell us the timetable?

The tribulation Jesus spoke of is past. It occurred in 70 AD. It was for the godless Jews of that time who rejected their Messiah. Those were the Days of Vengeance. God killed off 1/3, dispersed 1/3 and preserved 1/3 (Christians), and destroyed Jerusalem. He inaugurated the Messianic Kingdom went he sent the Disciples to the Gentiles. The whole world learned the knowledge of God. Heathen nations became Christian nations. Great things happened in the world.

Now, the once-believing nations of the world have been deceived again because Satan is loosed and he is Gog gathering Magog as an army against the righteous. He will start attacking Christians and be destroyed by the brightness of the LORD’s coming. You can expect to see what seem like miracles (through Satanically-inspired technology). You can expect that man will claim to be God and try to destroy all religions, beginning with Christianity. Christ will send fire from heaven against them and cast them and their god, Satan-Gog, into Gehenna.

the Bible is the final authority and it is the Bible that clearly points to a pre-trib rapture. when someone argues against the rapture, they are arguing with God. God clearly wants His children to escape His wrath. what kind of father would punish all of his children when he knows who the guilty ones are? Certainly not God, our Creator and our Abba!

About your Nov 20, 2008 post.
After some study, I am not convinced that 1948 when Israel became a nation is the major benchmark. How about 5 June 1967 when for the first time Israel retook control of the Temple Mount for the first time since 70 AD. Is this not the time spoken of as the end of the Gentiles down trodden on Israel? If so your timetable would have to move forward some 19 years.

Read Romans 9,10 and 11.Gentile believers are the “wild olive branch grafted into Israel”. God is not going to rapture up only “part” of the tree. We along with those saved Jews who are “regrafted” back into their natural olive tree are all part of the same tree. The Gentile believers aren’t going anywhere without the saved Jews. When Jesus comes back the “whole” tree goes. not just part Gentiles are part of the commonwealth of Israel. When the Jews go the Gentile believers go and not before. Pre trib eschatology has lulled the believers to sleep.Scripture is very clear that believers will see the anti-christ’s abomination of the temple. Be ready, be found faithful about our Father’s business and be an overcomer.

Many these days are abandoning the pretribulation rapture view, and the June, 1995 article by Chuck Missler (”Byzantine Text Discovery: Ephraem the Syrian”) reveals why there is such a mutiny! First of all, the authoritative scholar that Missler cited, Dr. Paul Alexander, referred only to “Pseudo-Ephraem” and not to Ephraem the Syrian. (If an unsigned ancient manuscript resembles the real Ephraem but there is a question of authorship, they assign it to “Pseudo-Ephraem” – the word “pseudo” meaning “possibly.” For some groundless reason, Grant Jeffrey, the one who reportedly found the “discovery,” changed Dr. Alexander’s terminology! For more info on Jeffrey, Google “Wily Jeffrey.”) And Missler’s scholarship is also questionable.

According to the Los Angeles Times (July 30, 1992), about one-fourth of Missler’s 1992 book “The Magog Factor” (which he co-authored with Hal Lindsey) was a daring plagiarism of Dr. Edwin Yamauchi’s 1982 book “Foes from the Northern Frontier”! Four months later Yamauchi’s publisher revealed that both Lindsey and Missler had promised to stop all publishing of their book. But in 1995 they were found publishing “The Magog Invasion” (which was either a revision or a replacement of “The Magog Factor”) – which had a substantial amount of the same plagiarism! (Dave MacPherson’s 1998 book “The Three R’s” has complete documentation on this and other pretrib scandals.)

After listing “1820″ as the reported date of the birth of pretrib (he should have said “1830″), Missler sees a pretrib rapture in that Medieval writer’s phrase “taken to the Lord” and, since he evidently favors rewriting others instead of researching, is unaware that Dr. Alexander explained that this phrase really means “participate at least in some measure in beatitude” – which has reference only to doing acts of virtue on earth and not being raptured away from earth! Alexander added that the same ancient writer held to only one final second coming (and not to any prior coming) which would follow the time of Antichrist! (Readers can Google “Deceiving and Being Deceived” by MacPherson to see how groundless the Pseudo-Ephraem claim is and to learn how desperate pretribs are to find any pre-1830 evidence for their escapist view. Dr. Robert Gundry of Westmont College has also demolished the Pseudo-Ephraem claim in his 1997 book “First the Antichrist.”)

Since Missler also leans on Thomas Ice, readers can evaluate Ice’s qualifications by Googling “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” “Thomas Ice (Hired Gun),” and “Pretrib Rapture Diehards” (the latter part). For further light on the 179-year-old, fringe-British-invented pretribulation theory, Google or Yahoo “Pretrib Rapture – Hidden Facts.”

Finally – why would anyone who has the brains of a rocket scientist want to be taken up with the concept of an any-moment pretrib rapture? The answer may well be that there’s more money in elevating a rapture than launching a rocket!

I applaud your willingness to endure criticism in order to speak what you beileve to be true. After navigating your site for some time, I believe that you have an earnest desire to know the things of the Lord. Your responses to people seem to be, as Paul said, (Or was it Peter?…either way)…”seasoned with grace”. I think your correlation to Jewish customs is very interesting….perhaps the most interesting one that I’ve heard thus far. I still think that the focus of any verse dealing with the end times is to be alert and to be ready. And, with regards to that, I believe the focus should be on having a life of Love, for God and man. A life dedicated to the helpless, to the least of these, to the needy.

But, I also see some of that (I think) in your words…so good job. And keep seeking out the mysteries of the Lord =)

What is tribulation or “great tribulation”?
This century has seen more horrific atrocities statistically than at any other time in history – both by nations and by individuals.
We consider ourselves blessed because we do not live in these nations who suffer for the name of Christ.
They consider themselves blessed because they share in Christ’s sufferings.
I think for many, a great tribulation is all ready here.
But the message is for the church . . . and Jesus tells us not to be deceived. I think the final deception – to worship the antichrist and accept his mark – will be the greatest test of faith Christians will face.
    I guess that makes me a mid-tribber.

I am surprised that on such a “knowledgeable” site, that in the discussion of the Messiah’s return the Fall Feast days are not even mentioned? I think we can see how He will return the second time by looking at his first coming.

When the Messiah came the first time as Savior and the Word in the flesh, He came and fulfilled all the Spring Feast days to the day and hour. Why do we think His second return He will not do the same. The three final Fall feast Days will all be fulfilled in His second return to the day and the hour. Just like in the Spring Feast days there are only days in between and not years.

Tribulation is the wrath of the anti-christ as he” falls to the earth with great wrath knowing his time is short.” The wrath of God is not poured out until the Last Trump and the Body of Christ is taken away at the end of Tribulation. He will return at the Feast of Trumps, Israel will repent in Awe during the ten days of Awe leading up to the Day of Atonement. All Israel will be saved in one day on that day. They will cleanse the temple and Christ will return with His bride at the Battle of Armageddon and fulfill the Feast of Tabernacles by reigning on earth a thousand years.

Hello Ken… you must have overlooked the very beginning of the article… I discuss that, in my opinion, it will take place on either Pentecost or Rosh Hashanah in any given year! And this year is looking pretty ripe!

I’m sorry, but we’ll have to agree to disagree on the timing… there is just no way that He will drag His bride through the tribulation period! The event is “the blessed hope”, not of fear or wonder “when and how will my head be cut off?”!

I agree the rapture will be pre-trib. It’s the only position that makes sense. 🙂

I havent spent much time looking at your site yet but I have to say that your site is what I would like mine to be if I ever had the time to put into it. I really like the name too. I live in Cleveland, TN where Perry Stone and Bill Cloud reside and have their ministries. I am a big fan of Missler’s work as well. Its actually a search on a Bill Cloud article that brought me to your site.

Its really interesting to see the differences of opinion in how to interpret God’s Word on this and other subjects. I agree with you on your view for the most part. I just question the part about how a part of God’s children will be raptured. I try to have an open mind about some things and I will just say that I will look into this theory. I do believe that you are busy as part of the body of Christ. I want to encourage you in what you are doing and I pray that God blesses your work and this site that it may reach the lost.

Hi Brian, thank you for your comments and kind words. I apologize for the delay in responding. I really need to be more active in monitoring my site again. I love listening to Perry and Bill as I believe they are truly blessed and anointed; however, I still question some of their interpretations. As far as the Rapture goes, I do have a theory, but at this point, I’m just trying to always be prepared and continue to believe in Luke 21:36 “Pray always that you are accounted worthy to escape”; so I do believe one is coming, but we just don’t know when at this point!

    Keep looking up…

There is only one way and the bible clearly tells us there will be a rapture of the church before the Tribulation so God the Father can finish his work. GOD will saved those who belive in Jesus Christ from his wrath. The restrainer is the church filled with the holysprit and untill he take the resatrainer out of the way he can not finish his works as stated in the bible. So many christians bring in the mid and end that means that you would suffer his wrath so where would the judgement come in if he will allow you to stay during that time and allow you to be killed from his wrath. we will be proctected during that 7 years in Heaven with Jesus Christ.

The only people that get raptured are those who are saved. There aren’t any partly saved individuals. We are saved by grace and not by works. We cannot be worthy to be saved anymore than we can be worthy to be raptured. We do not pray always that we may be saved, and Luke 21:36 is not about escaping via the rapture. Nice attempt to make the pretrib rapture doctrine work.

Jacob’s trouble: Mentioned once in the Word. Jer. 30,31 is the prophesy that mentions it. This prophesy is about Israel (Jacob) who gets scattered (vs. 10,11) throughout the Earth.. They are later gathered from the north country and the ends of the Earth Jer 31:8. Isaiah tells us that when Israel gets gathered from being scattered she will never be scattered again. Israel became a nation in 1948 and she will never be scattered to the 4 winds again. Jacob’s trouble is about 70 AD. This is the only time that Israel was scattered, the rest of the time it was captivity. Israel continued to be scattered throughout the Earth for almost 2000 years. That should be a sign to everyone.

But why is it so important for this prophesy that is only mentioned once in scripture to be so important for the pretrib doctrine? After all it is an obscure passage, yet is mentioned at large concerning the great tribulation. The reason is simple. For the pretrib rapture doctrine to work, it must show separation between Israel and the church. This is the foundational passage. The great tribulation is often referred to by man as the time of Jacob’s trouble, but we can see that God does not in His Word. There is another important issue surrounding this passage that anchors it to other passages. That is that this time of trouble is so great, and there is none like it.

If we have studied history we know how substantial the decimation of Jerusalem was at the time the Romans decimated her in 70 AD. The Jews were taken from there homes and made into slaves throughout the Roman empire. Many Christians lost their lives to the entertainment of the Roman Arenas. The Jewish nation was decimated to such an extent that she only lived on through Jewish communities where she settled throughout the nations of the Earth. This devastation is the absolute worse that Israel has ever experienced and although her trouble is not over because Zach. 14 is yet to be fulfilled. She will never again see this total destruction again.

Jesus referred to this time with the beginning of the His prophesy of Matt. 24. Matthew 24 Starts out by the disciples admiring the temple building. Jesus responds by saying that that particular building would be desolated by not one stone being left upon another.

The disciples then ask about the future concerning these events. (Although they may not have been aware that they were asking about multiple events, and might have considered it singular.) The questions are in verse 3: “…when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world. We can see clearly that there are three questions, and Jesus addresses them all in this chapter.

We must first note that the first question is concerning 70 AD. At this time not a single stone was left upon another. History tells us that when the temple was burnt down the fire was so hot that the gold melted between the stones, and this is the reason they were displaced.

Jesus also speaks of the abomination of desolation mentioned in Daniel 9:27, which also refers to that time. You will note that the abomination of desolation is not mentioned in the book of Revelation. The anti-christ may stand in the temple and claim to be god, which is an abomination but the decimation has already happened. This decimation separates the events. The daily sacrifices are a thing of the past and have been for nearly 2000 yrs. The fact that Christ took away the daily sacrifices and became THE sacrifices once and for all time should be a sign to anyone reading Dan. 9:27. This scripture has been fulfilled. But what about the 7 year period… the 70th week. Daniel isn’t the only prophet to use the term weeks. Jude refers to Enoch’s writings. Enoch used the term weeks many times. In his writings the entire history of the earth is summed up in a period of 8 weeks, just for one example. The term week in prophesy isn’t an exact set amount of time, it’s an era. Who told you that a week is a 7 year period of time… the same MAN who taught you the pretrib doctrine.

The prophesy of the time of Jacob’s trouble and the abomination of desolation has been totally satisfied. It is a thing of the past. The only reason to not see it so is to attempt to make the separation between Israel and the church. This issue, of course, is the foundation of the pretrib doctrine to separate the rapture from the second coming.

If the pretrib doctrine can maintain that Matt. 24 is for Israel and Paul’s writings are for the Gentile church then and only then can the assumption be made that the rapture is not at the second coming. There is a problem though, Peter also wrote to the exact same people that Paul wrote to. They made the rounds together in the book of Acts. Peter gives the same exact message to the Gentile church 2 Peter 3:10, as Jesus gives in Matt 24:29-35 (assumed to be just for Israel). Therefore the event of Jesus coming ‘as a thief’ is a singular event (1Thess. 5:3, 2 Peter 3:10, Rev. 16:15), and cannot be separated into the dual, rapture, and second coming.

The matter of imminence: Jesus declares that He is coming like a thief in the night. If the rapture were to take place exactly 7 years prior to the second coming, Jesus would be lying by His second declaration of the nature in which He would be coming for the second coming… “As a thief”. You cannot have the rapture “as a thief” in 1 Thess. 5:3 and then the declared second coming in 2 Peter 3:10, and Rev. 16:15 “as a thief” as well. Jesus makes this point very clear in Matt. 24:43, “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.” Jesus makes it very clear that there is only one entry point of immanency. Therefore the rapture and the second coming are one in the same. To believe the pretrib doctrine you must blaspheme Jesus by making Him into a liar concerning this point.

We are not assigned or appointed to God’s wrath: Don’t forget verse 10 (1 Thess. 5:9,10), …but to salvation and forever living with Him. Is our assignment temporal? NO! And neither is the wrath. Rev. 14:9-11 tells us exactly what God’s wrath is… it is Hell. Take your temporal glasses off and put your eternal heavenly ones. What is the value of temporal death vs. eternal death? Blessed in the sight of Him is the death of His saints. God’s temporal judgements bring about the Fulfillment of His eternal wrath… Rev. 15:1. The word Wrath in 1 Thess. 5:9 is NOT the same one used in Greek for God’s wrath concerning the bowl judgments. The assumption of the pretrib doctrine is that God’s wrath and our assignment is temporal. It is not.

I appreciate your opinion here… I’m sorry that it has taken a while to approve it… my site was down for a long time. Nevertheless… we will just have to agree to disagree on this on my friend.

God the Father has a covenant with the Jews (spoken of as “The Day of The Lord” throughout scripture) and Jesus the Son has a covenant with His church (spoken of by “The Day of Christ”). All instances of “The Day of The Lord” in scripture are always a dark and terrible time… whereas, all mention of “The Day of Christ” (Rapture) is a Day of Hope, Blessing, Gathering Together, etc. Once Christ has “gathered” His Bride then God the Father will conclude his covenant with the Jews during the Tribulation. There are two “Raptures”… (a “Pre” and “Post” rapture) Not all who are “saved” are living a life worthy to escape (Luke 21:34-36) and will have to endure the Tribulation to “make their robes white”. We shall find out soon enough how it all plays out. I encourage you to also visit my FB page, in particular this post: https://www.facebook.com/kingdomengineers/posts/901724336556980:0

I really don’t want to have to be the one who is going to rain on your parade. As a consequence, you may call me a fool, call me misinformed, or call me whatever you like. However, there is nothing that I can find anywhere in the Scriptures that says anything at all about either a Pre, Mid, or Post Tribulation Rapture of the Church. We all have to go through the seven years of Tribulation. At the end of the seven years the Lord will return. On that very same day the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive will meet the Lord in the air, to be with the Lord forever. If you favour the word Rapture, then that is known as the Pre-Wrath Rapture. The Pre-Wrath Rapture solves all of the problems associated with the various Rapture theories, including those not even mentioned above. The master negotiator Donald Trump, the Antichrist, will confirm a seven year Middle East Peace treaty shortly after he is elected (later on this year) and when he does that is just about the end of the Pre Trib theory of the Rapture of the Church. The Rapture of the Church is nothing more, (or nothing less) than something that has been made up by people are frightened, scared witless, at the prospect of ever having to go through the Great Tribulation. But go through the Great Tribulation they will, just as sure as I am sitting here and writing this little piece. John Nelson Darby is recognized as the father of dispensationalism later made popular in the United States by Cyrus Scofield’s Scofield Reference Bible. Charles Henry Mackintosh, 1820–1896, with his popular style spread Darby’s teachings to humbler elements in society and may be regarded as the journalist of the Brethren Movement. CHM popularised Darby more than any other Brethren author. As there was no Christian teaching of a “rapture” before Darby began preaching about it in the 1830s, he is sometimes credited with originating the “secret rapture” theory wherein Christ will suddenly remove His bride, the Church, from this world before the judgments of the tribulation. Dispensationalist beliefs about the fate of the Jews and the re-establishment of the Kingdom of Israel put dispensationalists at the forefront of Christian Zionism, because “God is able to graft them in again,” and they believe that in His grace he will do so according to their understanding of Old Testament prophecy. They believe that, while the methodologies of God may change, His purposes to bless Israel will never be forgotten, just as He has shown unmerited favour to the Church, He will do so to a remnant of Israel to fulfill all the promises made to the genetic seed of Abraham. I am not a dispensationalist; it is unbiblical.

If there is any subject matter at all that is going to raise controversy and in doing so be sure to raise the greatest amount(s) of comments, it would have to be the supposed Rapture of the Church. Don’t take what I am about to say as being a derogatory — because it was not meant to appear that way. There are those who hold fast to the idea of a Rapture of the Church quite fervently. In fact, if there is ever anyone who dares to reject their misconceived idea there is going to be a Rapture of the Church, the indignation that quite often follows can be even more passionate than the initial concept they had of a Rapture in the first place. Over the years, I have seen argument over argument for the timing of an alleged Rapture of the Church. The actuality is that there are those out there who can really get down to a gutter type of level when it comes to even discussing the Rapture notion. This is so, particularly if there is someone who does not agree with their own point of view. That being said, the way that I now look at is like this. If there really were two events, the Rapture of the Church or the Day of the Lord why is there so much disagreement over who is right or who is wrong when it comes to the timing for the Rapture. Doesn’t something appear to be not quite right when there are so many different conceptions that lead only in one direction, difficulties? Complications always rise to the surface when it comes to discussing the timing for the Rapture. It is true, every theory relating to a Rapture of the Church is always associated with impediments and glitches? The reason for that is clear. There is nothing at all in the Scriptures that says anything at all about a Rapture. In fact, the word Rapture is not even mentioned once anywhere at all in the whole of the Bible. The day of the Lord and the Rapture of the Church, are one in the same event. It still manages to bother me somewhat that there are so many people out there who consider themselves so important so as to believe they are going to be shown preference over the billions and billions of others on the planet by being taken up into Heaven well before the Day of the Lord. Over and above everyone else. There just has to be something incredibly self-centred about these people. In closing, the speculation that you have over Donald Trump being the Antichrist is well founded. I believe he is as you have suggested. However, how do you equate that theory with your pre-tribulation stance when it is so contradictory? Doesn’t the pre-tribulation theory focus around the seven year treaty of Daniel Chapter 9, Verse 27. In effect, you will be gone from the earth before the Antichrist is revealed, and the treaty is signed. Nonetheless, you are contemplating Trump could be the Antichrist. That doesn’t make a great deal of sense. It doesn’t make sense unless you think that you are going to be taken up into Heaven before the treaty is signed. As a consequence of that theory, you could then only believe you had a few months to go before you were going to be taken up into Heaven without having to die first. If that is so, then what we are then looking at in all of this is just sheer madness reminiscent of the Heaven’s Gate Cult. They all committed suicide to join an asteroid they thought was going to take them straight into Heaven. However, anyone who commits suicide commits an act of self-murder. The certainty is that because murder destroys Gods plan for the individual who has been murdered the outcome can only be eternal damnation. Suicide is the ultimate act of selfishness. Just as the concept of a pre-tribulation Rapture is the ultimate act of self-centeredness. Instead of all this debate, why not let God and his word decide when we are going to be taken up into Heaven without dying. That is so, instead of trying to wildly speculate the timing for the return of the Lord and the Rapture, for the use of a better word. Actually, ruptured is a much better word than raptured. God bless.

Robert, the Rapture is in many places within scripture. Feel free to research this site’s category on the rapture, I believe you’ll find some interesting posts on this topic. Some of my posts here have been taken from Brother D here: http://christianitynotchurchianity.blogspot.com/2006/01/rapture-part-1.html He does a much better job of explaining it than I do. For the life of me I cannot see what this constant preoccupation by the majority of Christians with something that is not even in the word of God to begin with. The alleged Rapture of the Church. Then there are all of the wild and fanciful theories relating to the timing for the Rapture, none of which have any credible Biblical reference whatsoever. Where is the faith of the saints? Gone out the door by all accounts? If you are looking for a way out instead of trying to lead others down the right path to salvation, then that is what has happened. That is precisely why the Antichrist has come forth. Saving the lost is what we have been put here to do. That is our job. Not to look for an escape. I am going to stick my neck out slightly and say that if there just happens to be anyone out there who is looking for the timing of the alleged Rapture then to my mind their faith is very weak. Almost none existence. Those sorts of Christians are neither hot not cold. In other words, fake Christians. Acting as if they truly belong the the Lord. When all that most are really all about is what they can get out of Christianity. An escape/a Rapture. Please note that there is nothing at all of a personal nature meant in any of the aforementioned comment. Gods Richest Blessings.

There will be a Middle East peace treaty confirmed by the Antichrist within a matter of a couple of weeks. Trump will travel to the Holy Land on the 24th of this month. What that means is that the treaty will be signed right at the end of May, or early June, somewhere around about that time. Of course, all of this is now all over the Internet. However, none of this is any sort of real news to me at at all. This is not boasting, but I knew this was coming six months ago when I saw Trump ascend from his tower to announce that he was going to run for the presidency of the United States. It was at that stage that I realized that what I was a witness to was the arrival of the Antichrist. Its all over. The beginning of the final seven years will commence within a very short time frame indeed and then we are really going to find out who is the wheat and who is the tare in their walk with the Lord. That being said, there are still two words that I need to hear relative to any of this, seven years. IT HAS TO BE A SEVEN YEAR TREATY FOR IT TO BE THE COVENANT OF DANIEL CHAPTER 9, VERSE 27. If those two critical words are never ever mentioned in relation to the treaty then we can just about dismiss it as not being the one that we are looking for. At this stage that is the only form of respite that those who follow the pre-tribulation theory of the Rapture have going on for them at the moment. However, once it has been signed, then that is the finish of the pre-tribulation theory of the Rapture. However it is really quite clear to me that it will be the covenant of Daniel and that we are going to hear those magical words. SEVEN YEAR TREATY. Nevertheless, once we hear those words then shout it from the rooftops because what it is going to mean is that the Christians are going to meet the Lord in the air to be with the Lord forever. That is not a Rapture. Gods Richest Blessings. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Even though there is really nothing else anywhere in the Bible that even comes close to making mention of the word Rapture, there are only two verses that could have any sort of a semblance to a Rapture. Those are the two verses mentioned below. Even so, I had always thought that God was going to give us some sort of a glue as to the identity of the Antichrist so that we would know who he was after he had arrived onto the world scene. In this instance, I am not speaking of the Demonic Bible Codes. These are surely devilish in nature. What I mean is that the name of the Antichrist would have to have been there in the Bible in plain good old fashioned King James English for all to read and understand. It is there alright and we who know can read and surely understand what we are being told by his word. I have highlighted it below. Nonetheless, as far as the taking away of the church is concerned, (which is not a Rapture) you don’t – and I don’t have any idea at all of when it going to happen. Even so, I would like to think that it would have to be somewhere mid way through the seven years. Simply because as there is going to be no one left alive here on the earth at the end of the final seven years, why would he leave us here on the earth to have to suffer the torment of the Great Tribulation. All the same, the bottom line out of all of this is that I simply don’t have a glue as to when it is going to happen. At the end of the day, there does not appear that there is ever going to be a pre-tribulation event. That would mean that Christians would have been taken from the earth before the Antichrist revealed himself. As he has now been revealed and we have not been taken, then there is definitely not going to be a pre-tribulation event/Rapture. Gods Richest Blessings.
1 Thes 4:16-18 ‘For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.Wherefore comfort one another with these words.’1 Cor 15:51,52 ‘Behold , I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep , but we shall all be changed ,in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound , and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed .

Luke 17, Verses 34, 35 and 36. Those are but a few of the verses that the Rapture theorists use to justify their beliefs. Read and understand what the son of man is telling us in these verses.. It does not refer to a Rapture at all but to the Day of the Lord. There are not two events, the Day of the Lord and the Rapture of the Church. Contrary to that, there is only one event. The Day of the Lord. When I was a very young boy of just 14 reading the Desire of Ages at my grandmothers place, that’s what I thought was the case. Now that I am rapidly approaching old age at 65, I still hold that point of view. All that I can see the Rapture doctrine as being is a contamination, or a blight, on the scriptures that is leading the unsuspecting straight into the arms of the Antichrist. If there is any man/women who preaches a Rapture doctrine then that is precisely what they are doing. If the coat fits then wear it. Gods Richest Blessings.
